*- During the introduction scenes of the Nostromo, the stars in the background are maintained even though the spaceship is shown from different angles.
*- When Kane's helmet is cut off, his yellow leather hood has vanished.
*- While they seem to have no trouble analyzing the chemical makeup of the planet
and its atmosphere, they can't seem to get the radio and video to work at a measly distance of 2 kilometers
(as they get to the alien spacecraft). RESPONSE by Richard:
This isn't a blooper its a script flaw. And it isn't a flaw either. The chemical analaysis of
the planet would be performed in a different manner than the the radio transmissions. The
chemical makeup can be found either by spectroscopic analysis from the atmosphere or by
taking a sample on the way down and feeding it into a Mass Spectrometer. The radio link
sucking is easy to explain, there are always pockets of naff reception everywhere look at
your mobile phone. The space suits they wear will probably have crap transmitters in them
anyway. etc etc [thanks richard!]
*- The facehugger uses its acid to burn through Kane's mask yet
when it is removed there is no visible trace of any acid on Kane's face.
*- Brett's cigarette changes size when Ripley confronts him about the
way he responds to questions.
*- There is a panoramic view of the ship's landing area (little lights visible
through the wind borne debris) with a ringed planet in the sky following the pull back view of the alien
craft. There were no rings during the approach in space.
*- Kane's shirt changes from being tucked in and out during the chestburster
scene.
*- When the alien is popping out of Kane, the camera changes angle and there
is a significant amount of blood missing from his shirt. Then when the angle changes again, the blood
comes back.
*- From Shannon: There may be a blooper, or just something funny in
ALIEN that gets missed. There is a peculiar hole in Parker's pants you can see while he goes
down some narrow stairs as Dallas leads them to intercept the face hugger's burning acid as
it eats through the hull. These things do happen with my own jeans from time to time,,, [thanks Shannon!]
*- During Parker's fight with Ash, the sleeve on his right shoulder suddenly
becomes torn and a safety pin is visible holding it together. In the next shot we see his shirt intact
and we see Ash tearing it.
*- When Dallas is crawling around through the bowels of the Nostromo before
he is taken by the alien, you can see dolly track lining the floor.
*- Right before Dallas is killed he touches a patch of alien slime on the
floor. In the next shot he has more slime on his hand than there was on the floor.
*- The alien's tail snakes between Lambert's feet, but it's not her feet that
are shown. Lambert wears cowboy boots; Kane wears joggers.
*- After Ripley fails to cancel the self-destruct mechanism we see a shot of
the countdown clock showing about 4 minutes 50 seconds left to destruction. Then there's a shot of
Ripley being frustrated, and then another quick shot of the countdown clock, now showing 10 minutes
39 seconds left to destruction.
*- When trying to abort the countdown, the cancellation instructions Ripley
follows with her finger are actually just a French translation of the detonation instructions she
followed earlier.
*- Mother's two 30 second countdowns take 36 and 37 seconds respectively. |

*- During the inquest, Van Leuwen refers to Ripley's company ID number as NOC14472
while the data screen in the background displays NOC14672.
*- Obvious looped background conversation noise during the breakfast scene.
*- Marks are seen on the tabletop before Bishop starts the "knife trick."
*- In the first wide angle shot, Bishop is stabbing the knife behind Hudson's hand.
*- A foot is visible when Frost falls down the shaft.
*- The marines can stand up straight inside the APC, yet are taller than
it when outside.
*- Ripley's headset changes position around the time she tells Gorman "they're cut off."
*- During the investigation of the power plant, Lieutenant Gorman informs Ripley
that the M41A Pulse Rifle fires "ten millimeter explosive-tipped caseless" ammunition. However, during the
sequence in which the survivors retreat from their makeshift base, shell casings can clearly be seen coming
out of the rifles, particularly in the shot where Vazquez runs out of ammo.
*- The APC window becomes unshattered right after it squashes the Alien.
*- When the marines exit the APC and enter the alien hive, they go down several
flights of stairs. When Ripley drives the APC into the alien hive to rescue them, it can be seen that she
is going down a ramp.
*- When Ripley tries to break the glass in the med lab there is a scuff mark on
the glass before her first swing. After this finishes, the mark disappears and we see Ripley actually making
the mark with her second swing.
*- As soon as the Alien snatches Newt, the motion detector stops sounding.
*- When Ripley retrieves some weapons to rescue Newt, she picks up one weapon from
the rack, puts a different one down, picks up the second weapon from the rack, and puts the first one down on
the floor. This is fixed in the special edition.
*- When Ripley meets the queen, there is a scene where the breathing sound and the
steam coming out of the queen's mouth are out of sync.
*- The yellow caution light on the loader when the mother alien pulls it into the
airlock breaks and unbreaks.
*- The Alien Queen's tail spear vanishes while she is in the airlock.
*- The hole where Lance Henriksen's body is can be seen when Bishop stops Newt
from being sucked out of the airlock.
*- The acid blood of the aliens rarely seems to damage the walls and floors like it
does in Alien (1979). This is especially noticeable in closed spaces like the air shafts, APC, and elevator,
where the people get burnt but nothing else does.

*- Between Aliens (1986) and this movie, the style of hyper-pod on the Sulaco and the color of the lettering on the Sulaco's hull changed.
*- The bloodstain on the Clemons' overalls changes size twice when the
governor arrives during the autopsy.
*- Facehuggers are able to lay only one embryo then die. The facehugger
that impregnates Ripley shouldn't have been able to impregnate the dog as well.
*- Dillon's glasses disappear for a shot after he asks Ripley "What?
What do you think?"
*- When 85 and Ellen Ripley are at the scanner, he says that he is not
able to operate it, however in a later shot he does.

*- During Gediman's discussion with Number 8 regarding her origins, he says "We used blood samples from Fiori 16, on ice." In ALIEN 3, the planet is listed as 'Fiorina 161.'
*- Christie's hands before he draws the gun at the basketball court.
*- Immediately after the basketball scene, when the science officer first
appears, the wheelchair disappears in the reverse angle.
*- When the Alien reaches up through the grating and they show Elgyn getting
pulled down, there is a big hole burned into the grate in front of him that was not there just a
second before.
